It's happening—the rise of hybrid and augmented intelligence

As we dive deeper into AI-topia, the more confusion I see when it comes to terminology, capability, and more importantly, what the future holds for humanity in an AI-powered world.
Two concepts that seem to often get confused in the sense of what’s to come are hybrid and augmented intelligence.
Luckily, as a student-of-AI-turned-advocate-and-educator, I’m in a privileged position to have access to knowledge and research that is sometimes at the bleeding edge, and the world we’re going to live in soon is beyond our wildest hopes and dreams
But I digress — in this new world, two terms are going to be used far more often than before, and it’s important for many of us to be in the know.
Hybrid intelligence and augmented intelligence are both related to the field of artificial intelligence (AI), but they refer to different concepts.
Hybrid intelligence refers to a system that combines both artificial and human intelligence. In a hybrid intelligence system, the strengths of both human and machine intelligence are leveraged to create a solution that is greater than the sum of its parts.
For example, a hybrid intelligence system might use machine learning algorithms to process vast amounts of data, while human experts…
